Daddy's New Bed

We finally broke down the crib and got Livvy a twin mattress.  HOWEVER have not yet found a frame, hence it's on the floor.  Last night was the first night in the bed, and at 12am Livvy woke up screaming "Mommy"so I went in to see what was up, only to wake up at 7am nice and refreshed and spooning my 2 year old!!!  Scott slept great as well.

Duck Duck Goose

Addison and Livvy fed ducks and turtles Cheerios the other day.  Addison unfortunately fell in but was a trooper.  Thanks for a good time!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

We spent Father's Day at Angels' Stadium, enjoying great weather, hot dogs, an Angels' win and great company.  Happy Dad's Day Scoot- you're the best!

Celebrating with Cindy

Last weekend I felt so blessed to be celebrating my dear friend Cindy's recovery from cancer.  Her diagnosis came out of the blue last November, and suddenly she was going thru chemotherapy.  She always maintained a brave face, and has been an inspiration to all who know her.  What joyous news on May 23rd when her Petscan showed the chemo had done its job. Thank you "Big G"! We all had such a fun evening out with this amazing woman - here's to you Cindy!  She's currently continuing the celebration in Germany with her husband...
While in Georgia, we hit the sites:
Olympic rings at Centennial Park
Nana and Livy at ABC...I mean, CNN
Georgia Aquarium - alligators, Livy tried to reach over the top of exhibit (no! no!)
Horse drawn carriage tour of Savannah
Tybee Island beach - it was SO hot the ocean was like a bath
Nana reading to Livvy in cottage

This past week has allowed me to reflect on the sweet simple blessings of life. Spending time with family and friends trumps everything else, and its so important to live in those moments, to cherish the bonds and connections we have to each other.  Life flips in an instant, and there are no guarantees.  Be true to yourself, love freely, give meaningful hugs, practice kindness and patience, and don't forget to have fun.
Thank you to everyone who made this a memorable trip.  See you at the beach!

Bolsa Chica Beach

Grandpa and Grandma Betty are at the beach this week, and they brought Livy's buddy Audrey.  We're been getting lots of sun, running along the bike path, good food and fun times.
